Chinese electric vehicle brand Zeekr has announced that it will begin sales of its 001 hatchback sedan and X compact crossover in Israel during the fourth quarter of this year, in collaboration with the Union Group, a local car retailer. This information was conveyed in a statement issued by the company on Monday. Zeekr, a premium car subsidiary of Geely, stated that it anticipates accepting reservations in the Middle Eastern country in early October, with deliveries scheduled to commence in November. This strategic move is part of Zeekr’s broader plan to establish a global presence. It comes shortly after the company’s announcement that it will also introduce these two models in Sweden and the Netherlands later this year. In the first half of 2023, rival EV brand BYD emerged as the top-selling electric vehicle brand in Israel, selling a total of 9,698 battery-powered cars, according to data provided by the Israel Vehicle Importers Association.
